Nathan Hrovat will cross over to Arden Street after North Melbourne and the Bulldogs agreed on a deal to swap picks in 2017.

The clubs will exchange their future third and fourth round picks in a trade for the 22-year-old.

Hrovat has played 30 games since being selected at pick No.21 in the 2012 National Draft.

“We see a tremendous amount of upside in Nathan and are rapt to have him at North,” GM Football Cameron Joyce said.

“He has great skills and the ability to play through the midfield and up forward which offers us great flexibility.”

The 175cm forward managed just four games in 2016 and will be hoping for more opportunities with the Kangaroos.

“We have a lot of young players looking for opportunities and Nathan will be in a great position to play senior football for us next season,” Joyce added.

“Our players are well aware that there are spots up for grabs, so competition will be fierce across the board which makes for an extremely exciting period for the footy club.”

Hrovat is a former Northern Knights captain and spent time under Brent Harvey’s wing leading into the Draft.

He was Vic Metro’s MVP and vice-captain, an All-Australian, Knights best-and-fairest winner despite playing just eight games and third in the Morrish medal and second in TAC Cup coaches award.
