North Melbourne is expecting more sell-out crowds at Blundstone Arena in 2017 with three premiership aspirants travelling to Hobart to do battle.

GWS (Round 3), Adelaide (Round 7) and Melbourne (Round 19) will all head south to take on the Roos.

After a nail-biting finish against Melbourne last season, the Demons will be out for revenge. The previous encounter ended with a shot on the siren by the Dees and a narrow 5-point win to North.

The home side will have the wood on the visitors, having won its last 15 games in a row against them.

First up for the Roos though, is Greater Western Sydney three weeks into the season. The Giants don’t have fond memories playing at the venue, having lost by 129-points back in 2012.

The Roos had 15 different goal scorers that day, including 5 to Aaron Edwards, as they recorded the highest ever score at the ground. Ryan Bastiac amassed 44 disposals in the rout while Liam Anthony collected 38 and Leigh Adams 37.

However things will be much different this time, with GWS likely to go into the season premiership favourites.

In Round 7 the Crows will fly to the southern-most state for the first time since 2014. North will be out for redemption after its humiliating elimination final loss at Adelaide Oval.

Meanwhile, Tasmanian’s who can’t get enough North Melbourne will be buoyed by news of an extra game on the apple isle.

The Roos will play their three contracted home games at Blundstone Arena, but will also travel to Launceston to take on the Hawks in Round 21.

Both Melbourne-based teams have claimed Tasmania as their own in recent seasons, so the clash will have some added spice.
