Onballers Will Phillips and Charlie Lazzaro have put themselves in the frame for a call-up after strong contributions in Sunday's VFL clash against Sandringham.

Lazzaro responded to his omission from the senior team with 28 disposals, 11 inside 50s, seven clearances, and a goal at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, while Phillips ended the day with 29 disposals of his own.

The No.29 slotted a well-taken snap to spark a resurgence early in the fourth quarter, before finishing six tackles and six clearances to complement his game-high possession tally.

Veteran Hugh Greenwood put in a characteristic performance, laying 18 tackles to go along with 16 touches and a goal.

He offers poses as a potential forward inclusion that has the ability to supplement Alastair Clarkson's onball brigade.

Utility Curtis Taylor was also among the reserves' best with 22 disposals, six inside 50s, and five marks and could be considered for his first AFL game in 2024.

The senior Roos will need to wait on Jackson Archer who will look to prove his fitness later in the week after pulling up with ankle ligament damage.

If the defender is unavailable, Miller Bergman shapes as a medium-sized defender option, while Bigoa Nyuon and Toby Pink - who played a full game in the VFL after being the AFL substitute against St Kilda – are taller possibilities.

In attack, Robert Hansen jnr kicked three goals against the Zebras and would add a burst of speed to the senior outfit, while Eddie Ford's two majors and 18 disposals will have him in the mix after making a successful return from a hip pointer issue.
